We, at Abolish Eu Visa for Thais, are happy to join the celebration of 150 year of friendship between Thailand and Sweden. Still we believe that does not make sense that Thai people are requiring a Visa to visit as tourist Sweden and the other 27 countries of the European Union, while million of Swedish and European citizen are enjoyng Thailand Visa free. In Jail Again!!!!

After the funny (even if offensive) justification for denying Thais a visa free travel toward Europe because of "security risk", we have investigated the presence in European Jails of citizens of Peru and Ukraine.  These 2 countries were recently admitted to Visa free travel to the European Union.;  These are the results.  (source    EUROPOL  https://www.europol.europa.eu/publications-document)

In a recent meeting in Bangkok with some official of the European Union delegation, it was discussed that one of the reason for Thais are still needing a Visa is the "high crime rate".  We were very puzzled about this statement and we did our little research.

In all 28 European Countries Jails The total number of Thai citizen incarcerated are..............1  Thai Woman!!!  This citizen is held in Bruxelles, and we are not revealing her name for privacy issue  1 only?  Where is the "high Crime Rate?  Again, we believe that there are still obscure reason for Thais not eligible to Travel with no Visa to Europe

สหภาพยุโรปยังคงเรียกร้องให้คนไทยยื่นขอวีซ่า เดินทางไปเที่ยวยุโรปในช่วงเวลาสั้นๆ  แต่ประเทศไทยไม่ได้ร้องขอวีซ่าจากนักท่องเที่ยวในกรณีที่เข้ามาท่องเที่ยวในระยะเวลาสั้นๆ

การต้องขอวีซ่าเพื่อการท่องเที่ยวในระยะเวลาสั้นๆเป็นเรื่องไร้สาระด้วยเหตุผลดังนี้ :

o   วัตถุประสงค์ในการเดินทางเพื่อหารพักผ่อน ช้อปปิ้ง จากเหตุนี้สามารถเพิ่มรายได้เข้ากลุ่มประเทศในโซนยุโรปได้

              o      คนไทยไม่ได้ไปเพื่อหางาน (จะถูกต้องตามกฎหมายหรือไม่ก็ตาม)  เนื่องจากมีเพียง 1%  ที่ต้องการแรงงานจาก ประเทศไทย

o   พลเมืองจากประเทศเพื่อนบ้านอย่าง มาเลเซีย ไม่ต้องขอวีซาเพื่อเข้ากลุ่มประเทศโซนยุโรป

ซึ่งรายได้/คน ไม่แตกต่างจากประเทศมาเลเซีย จึงไม่เข้าใจว่าทำไมคนไทยต้องขอวีซ่าด้วย

o   ญี่ปุ่นได้ประกาศยกเลิกวีซ่าท่องเที่ยวสำหรับคนไทยแล้ว และมีความพึงพอใจกับประโยชน์ที่ได้รับจากการยกเลิกวีซ่าด้วยมีนักท่องเที่ยวเข้าประเทศกว่า 1 ล้านคน/ปี ที่เข้ามาใช้จ่ายในปี 2016 ซึ่งทำรายได้ให้กับประเทศญี่ปุ่นกว่า 1 พันล้านดอลล่า

o   เพราะความเข้มงวดกลุ่มประเทศในยุโรป จึงทำให้คนไทยเดินทางไปยุโรปไม่ถึง 200,000 คน/ปี

สำหรับทุกเหตุผลข้างต้นเราต้องการให้มีการยกเลิกการขอวีซ่าสำหรับคนไทยที่ต้องการเดินทางไปท่องเที่ยวในระยะเวลาสั้น

Even if long-haul tourists want to come here, and even if they have the means of doing so, many however face the hurdle of securing a visa to visit. Visa obligations can deter legitimate leisure and business tourists due to the complicated processes, processing times and expense associated with obtaining a visa.

Modern travellers show a tendency to shorter booking lead times, and,accordingly,are more likely to choose destinations that require limited planning. 

Europe Visa Free for Thais. Yes or No?

This is the letter that ABOLISH EU VISA FOR THAIS  just mailed to major business leaders in Thailand, to know their opinion about a Visa Free regime for Thais visiting Europe.

Dear Sir

as a member of the ............-Thai Chamber of Commerce you have relevant ties with Europe, and probably you and your delegates often travel to Europe.  If you or your team are Thais  you have to request a Schenghen Visa.  As you know this process is time consuming, and frankly, useless because vast majority of Thai people visits Europe for a short time mainly for business and shopping.  We, at ABOLISH EU VISA FOR THAIS, are launching a campaign to pressure on EU authorities in Bruxelles and in Bangkok to abolish the visa for Thais, in the mutual interest of Thai and European econmies which would benefit immensely if Thai citizens are allowed to visit Europe without a Visa.
